Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): Kohima Smart City Development Ltd. (KSCDL) initiated its first ‘Handle Bar’ survey with cyclists and traffic personnel to gather qualitative and quantitative information regarding existing conditions, an update received here on Friday informed.
The survey seeks to collect information about pedestrian and bicycle network gaps, signalised intersections, bicycle parking demand, safe and unsafe routes, posted and actual vehicular speed, and way finding amenities, it stated.
The initiative is in continuation of the India Cycles4Change Challenge whereby Kohima under the initiative of the KSCDL is participating in the competition along with 95 other cities. It is an initiative of the Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, government of India to promote cycling which would conclude by October.
