Kronu visits playground construction site in Nihokhu
Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Minister of Planning and Coordination, Neiba Khronu, visited the site of ongoing construction of playground of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) in Nihokhu under Niuland district on August 17.
An update from AASA stated that the association covers 11 villages along the foothills with a population of approximately 8700 under newly formed Niuland district.
The association president, Vito Z Sumi, has expressed gratitude to the minister for taking the effort to visit the ongoing ground construction works. He informed that the football ground along with first basketball court in Ato area is being constructed by M/S Global Infrastructure and Construction in the donated land by Nihokhu village council. He added that the construction company, as part of their social responsibility, has dedicated the ground for the upcoming youth and promotion of sports in the area.
It stated that the association president also handed over a memorandum to the minister for construction of rostrum-cum-integrated sports complex under any centrally sponsored scheme.
Meanwhile, the association has appreciated the presence of Wing Commander, S Akheto Jakhalu; Ghokivi Tsakhalu, chairman of project management group undertaking the construction work; Vikugha Chopy, general secretary of sand union, Purana Bazaar; Bohoshe Awomi, Toluvi village council; and vice president of Niuland area GBs’ association.
