[dropcap]A[/dropcap]N agriculture exposition called the “ISRMAX Horti & Agri Asia Meet 2013’ was hosted in Bangkok in Thailand from August 15 to the 17th and saw participants from 137 companies. India also participated. Neiba Kronu, Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture of Nagaland government, also attended the event and took the opportunity to pitch investment opportunities to foreign companies there. Participants were from Asia, Europe and Africa. Approximately 37 companies from India displayed various farming machineries and equipments. The delegation comprised about 1, 100 members. Official sources informed the local media today that the politician from Nagaland interacted with farmers from Thailand, organizers and company chiefs. He has invited them to visit Nagaland and “guide the farmers with technologies driven method of farming through which various types of crops can be grown and revenue will be generated to the poor farmers.” The elected representative from Nagaland is also informed to have had ‘special interactions’ with functionaries of the BCS of Italy, one of the world’s largest equipments manufacturers. The company deals with cycle technologies that are said to have low-environment impact. Their products are manufactured by highly-recyclable materials in compliance with standards enforced on diesel and petrol engines. Kronu has expressed desire to enter into a pact with BCS ‘so that the company becomes an authorized dealer which can supply the farmers’ machineries and equipment to Nagaland.’ The next conclave of the agricultural event is scheduled to be held during November 22-24 this year in Karnal of Haryana. Likewise, a similar event called the ‘ISRMAX India’ would be held during February 20-22 in New Delhi and ISRMAX-Asia in August 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.
