Korean band Mongdoll teams up with Trance Effect for new single ‘Fighting’

DIMAPUR — South Korean rock band Mongdoll and Nagaland’s Trance Effect are set to make history as they collaborate on a new single titled Fighting. The track is scheduled for release on July 23 at 6 pm. across major digital music platforms.


This marks the first official collaboration between a Korean and an Indian rock band—an important milestone not only for the artists involved but also for independent music from Northeast India reaching global audiences.


The single, Fighting, is described as a bright, upbeat track that blends positive melodies with vibrant instrumentation. The song carries a message of solidarity, encouragement, and resilience—delivered through a cross-border creative effort.


Ahead of the release, Mongdoll shared through their agency MY Music, “We're thrilled to be making a new cultural connection between Korea and India through this single, and even more excited to be taking our first step onto the global stage.”


Formed in 2021, Mongdoll is a five-member band known within Korea’s indie scene for its lyrical and refreshing sound. The group has garnered attention through performances at various music competitions and is now looking to expand its presence globally through this collaboration with Trance Effect.

Trance Effect, an indie pop-rock band formed in Dimapur, has carved a niche in India’s independent music scene with their emotive lyrics, energetic sound, and tight live performances. Their debut EP Clowns earned them critical acclaim, winning Song of the Year at the MG Awards and Best EP at the Indian Music Diaries Awards.

In addition to their domestic success, Trance Effect has taken their music to international stages—performing at events like the Gwangju Busking World Cup in South Korea, the North East India Festival in Vietnam, and the Hidden Kingdom World Music Festival in Bhutan. The band was also featured on the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist.
