Dimapur, March 21 (EMN): The Konyak Union (KU) on behalf of all the Konyak cardamom farmers, has extented its utmost appreciation to the 35 Assam Rifles especially the Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan and Director General Assam (DGAR) for installing and inaugurating a Cardamom Processing plant (CPP) in Mon on March 16 and 17.
The press release noted that, with the installation of the CPP project worth 40 lakh, about 2000 kg of cardamom could be dried in a cycle of 20 hours. Also the release stated that the project will ensure faster processing and easy drying. ‘The project will foster economic growth and better livelihood for the poor farmers’, it stated.
The press release also directed the concerned committee to supervise the CPP judiciously so as to benefit the hard working farmers. The union declared that the CPP is the property of every farmer and has appealed to all its citizens to safeguard the plant.
