DIMAPUR — A state-level rice husking competition to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebration and IEC campaign for Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was held on Friday at the NSF Solidarity Park in Kohima.
The competition was funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs and organised by Tribal Research Institute under Department of Tribal Affairs, Nagaland.
A total of 30 contestants from 15 tribes participated and was judged on the quality as well as the quantity of husking the grains.
Ngapkhao and Ayo from Konyak tribe secured 1st position, while A Soyaü Phom and Hantenhaila from Phom tribe secured 2nd position and Mengzi and Lalam Lenthang from Kuki tribe won the 3rd position.
