- DIMAPUR — Dimapur-based Konyak organisations
have appealed for peace in relation to the “escalating situation” at Khehoyi
Camp.
- A press release informed that an emergency meeting was held
among Konyak Union Dimapur, Konyak Nyupuh Sekho Khong Dimapur, and Konyak
Students’ Union Dimapur on Sunday in the backdrop of the military coup in
Khehoyi.
- “The recent situation at Khehoyi Camp has caused mental
distress among the Nagas, and (we) strongly caution the NNPG against indulging
in any form of violence or bloodshed. Acknowledging the progress the Nagas have
made in overcoming a history of violence, we urge all parties to resolve their
conflict/misunderstanding through peaceful dialogue.
- “The meeting has passed a strong resolution that any parties
engaging in conflict or violence would result in non-cooperation from the
Dimapur-based Konyak civil societies,” it stated.
