DIMAPUR — The
monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meetings for Kohima and
Wokha districts took place on Wednesday.
Kohima: The Kohima DPDB meeting was held at the DPDB hall,
chaired by DC Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, in the presence of Dr. Tseilhoutuo
Rhütso, MLA and chairman of the DPDB.
During the meeting, key decisions included forwarding the
registration proposals for Carl Roger's Institute of Mental Health Research
Centre, Chiechama Students’ Union, and Naga Distributors Union Kohima to higher
authorities, according to a DIPR report.
The proposal to rename St. Francis Xavier School, Peducha,
to Don Bosco School, Peducha was also approved and forwarded.
The board agreed to include the sarpanchs of Kidima,
Nerhema, Kohima village, and Chunlikha in the District Water and Sanitation
Mission (DWSM) Committee on a rotational basis for one year. It also welcomed
the principal of Government Polytechnic College, Kohima, as its new member.
BDO Chiephobozou, Seyiekhrielie Rio, gave an overview of the
activities of the Rural Development department. His presentation covered the
department's structure and schemes, including the implementation of MGNREGA,
Aadhaar-based payment systems, and direct benefit transfers.
Rio also highlighted development works in Chiechama, Nerhe
Model village, and other areas, along with the efforts of self-help groups
under the NSRLM and the Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme.
Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso proposed initiatives for cleaner
taxis with driver details prominently displayed behind the seat in view of the
festive season. The DC reminded officers to set up internal complaints
committees in compliance with SHe-Box portal requirements.
The Water Resources Department was tasked with preparing the
PowerPoint presentation for the January 2025 DPDB meeting.
Wokha: The Wokha DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference
hall under the chairmanship of MLA and DPDB chairman, YM Humtsoe. The Advisor
for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, was also in attendance.
During the meeting, DC Wokha Vineet Kumar requested all
departments with government-acquired land apply for land pattas, according to a
DIPR report.
Supplementing this matter, Yanthan urged all heads of
offices in the district to conduct a proper survey and estimate of lands that
have not been compensated for further necessary action and onwards submission
to the higher authorities.
The Advisor also appealed to all line departments to develop
comprehensive plans and reports regarding the implementation of the Gram
Panchayat Development Plan, emphasising its importance as a crucial tool for
grassroots-level development.
The agendas discussed and approved for recommendation to the
government included the proposal to set up three health units (sub-centres) at
Saron, Airfield, and Suren Colony under Wokha town.
The departments of Veterinary and Industries gave a
PowerPoint presentation on various schemes and projects implemented and
undertaken by their respective departments in the district.
Commenting on the importance of attendance at the DPDB
meeting, the DC emphasised that the DPDB is the highest decision-making body in
the district. He urged all officers to take the meeting seriously and to attend
regularly.
He also appealed to all departments to present detailed and
comprehensive reports on their activities when giving PowerPoint presentations.
The DC also requested the departments of Land Resources and
Fisheries to present their departmental activities through a PowerPoint
presentation at the next DPDB meeting in January 2025.
