Kohima Urban CDPO organises a Poshan Maah community meeting at Midland to raise awareness on child nutrition schemes.
DIMAPUR — As part of the celebration of Poshan Maah 2026 under Kohima (Urban) ICDS Project, the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kohima Urban under the Department of Social Welfare organised a community meeting at Midland Community Hall, Kohima, on September 26 on the theme “My Anganwadi my responsibility”.
Addressing the gathering, Menuokholie Kire, Chairman of Midland Council, Kohima, appreciated the Department of Social Welfare for extending welfare schemes to mothers and children across the state. He called upon the community to take advantage of the schemes and gain maximum benefits.
According to an update, CDPO Reyivolu Kezo highlighted schemes under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 as well as Mission Shakti, including Palna and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), and sought the cooperation of the community towards their successful implementation.
During the programme, eggs were distributed to adolescent girls for nutritional support under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Kohima.
Earlier, Anino Peseyie, Senior Supervisor, highlighted the activities of early childhood care and education, while Sohile Tep, District Coordinator, spoke on nutrition for adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The programme was followed by a display of locally available vegetables, a tasting station, Aadhaar enrolment and updation, PMMVY spot registration, the activation of the Anganwadi Management Committee, and a growth monitoring station.
Kekhrieselhou (Neiu) Metha, Councillor of Midland Ward, and other colony leaders also attended the programme.
