KOHIMA, MARCH 26
On Wednesday evening, denizens of Kohima got a taste of Christian music of various genres in Kohima town’s Khuochiezie ground as various local artistes performed in aid of orphans.Although rain played its part initially, it didn’t deter the hopes of music lovers who turned up to witness the gospel concert organized by ‘The River of Soul Saving Ministry’ in aid of an event being organized, called the ‘orphanage Bible camp.’
For once, those in attendance at Khuochiezie must have felt that the concert would have been a flop show as a light shower interrupted the concert. However, the performing artistes made it sure that the tickets didn’t go to waste.
As expected, Alobo Naga & The Band, who were the last to perform, enthralled the Khuochiezie crowd with their performances. The band also belted out their number ‘Painted Dreams’ and gave the crowd a taste of what they had been waiting for.
Mention be made that this song ‘Painted Dreams’ introduced their band nationally and in some countries abroad, finding nomination for the European Music Awards in 2012.
The other artistes who shared the stage were upcoming rapper LC Sekhose, Naga Idol Ruokuovotuo Pfusenuo, The Bel Canto Choir from Creative Music Academy in Kohima and Khriekethozo Sekhose, winner of North East Guitar Recital. Children of Kohima Orphanage Home also gave a special appearance.
The funds generated from the concert will be utilized for conducting the said camp for orphans in Nagaland, tentatively in the month of September.
The convener of the organizing committee, Razou Angami, has thanked well-wishers for their support to the event.
