Kohima, Nov. 7 (EMN): An event called the Global Leadership Summit will be hosting a leadership discourse via video streaming, on November 9 and the 10th at the Union Baptist Church in Kohima. The event will have field personalities from around the globe as speakers, organisers of the event have informed.
During a press conference, Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, convenor of the organising committee said this year’s summit in Kohima will ‘video cast’ nine personalities and leaders in various fields. They will have on the panel Craig Groeschel, co-founder and senior pastor of Life Church; Danielle Strickland, pastor, author and justice advocate; Danny Meyer, restaurateur; Juliet Funt, consultant, speaker and founder of Whitespace; TD Jakes, founder and senior pastor at The Potter’s House; Carla Harris, vice chairman, managing director and senior client advisor at Morgan Stanley; Rasmus Ankersen, bestselling author, entrepreneur; Erwin Mcmanus, author and founder of Mosaic Los Angeles; Simon Sinek, New York Times bestselling author.
The organiser said that the leadership summit was started in the US in 1992 as a global movement. In Kohima, the GLS has been successfully held for the past four years and this will be the fifth edition.
In India, 70 summits are held every year in 40 cities with 22,000 leaders attending the summit. It is also streamed in seven different languages in India, the organisers said.
“The Global Leadership Summit gave us the rare opportunity of bringing different fields and culture under one roof to instil, inspire and ignite the passion God has given us, in Kohima, Nagaland,” Vihienuo stated in a handout.
‘God is able to do immeasurable more than what we ask or imagine by his power that is at work in us, and GLS has allowed us to experience this in tangible ways. It bought the world’s best to us so that we can be the best in our world.’
Meripeni Zares, a member of the organizing committee, said that the summit will inspire people to dream differently and gain new perspectives. Some of the topics that will be covered during the summit are strengthening leadership through mentors; ‘staying hungry’ and fighting complacency; eliminating barriers to innovation and productivity; leading with cultural intelligence; high performing strategies for time management; and leading with a ‘hospitality quotient.’
