DIMAPUR — Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma is hosting its first Inter-Collegiate Tournament 2026, bringing together student athletes from across Nagaland.
The three-day tournament, which kicked off on Thursday following a grand opening ceremony at the KSCJ Auditorium, will conclude on August 8. It features men's basketball, women's basketball, and men's futsal.
In his welcome address, Vipito Achumi emphasised the deeper purpose of the tournament, stating, "Our vision for this tournament extends beyond competition. We believe it is a celebration of friendship, teamwork, discipline, respect, and true sportsmanship."

Addressing the participants, Dr. Temjenwabang, Principal of Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma, expressed hope that the first edition of the tournament would serve as a catalyst for many more meaningful inter-college interactions and collaborations in the years ahead.
He extended his best wishes to all the participating teams, encouraging them to compete with integrity, determination, and the true spirit of sportsmanship, before officially declaring the tournament open.
The oath of sportsmanship was administered by the Games and Sports Secretary, KSCSU, reaffirming the commitment of all participants to fair play and discipline, said an update from the college.
As many as 11 colleges are participating in the tournament. They are: Tetso College Dimapur, St. Joseph's College Jakhama, Alder College Kohima, Nagaland University School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Capital College of Higher Education Kohima, Sazolie College Kohima, Patkai Christian College Chümoukedima, Oriental College Kohima, Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, Kohima College Kohima, and Baptist College Kohima.
