Kohima prepares for Independence Day

[caption id="attachment_261615" align="alignleft" width="300"] Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie chairing the meeting held in his office conference hall on July 19.[/caption] Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): To ensure smooth conduct of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration at New Secretariat Plaza on August 15, Kohima district conducted a meeting under the chairmanship of its Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie on July 19. Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner informed that the meeting was convened to look into various areas where the district administration has been given the in-charge to coordinate with different departments and NGOs. He called upon all the concerned departments/ NGOs to ensure success of their assigned responsibilities. A DIPR report stated that a total of eleven contingents from uniform category have confirmed their participation in the ceremonial parade, the District Education Officer has been assigned to confirm participation of the seven contingents from different schools. The house also decided to begin parade rehearsal from August 6 at Secretariat Plaza starting from 8 am onwards. The transportation will be taken care by the district administration. Three bands have also confirmed to participate in the ceremonial parade. The house also discussed on other assigned works such as cultural items, dance display, taekwondo, visitation of Institutions, football exhibition match, security arrangement, medical coverage, putting up of flag post, road maintenance, PA equipments etc. for the successful celebration of Independence day 2019. The meeting was attended by all the concerned officials from various departments and NGOs.
