DIMAPUR — The
Kohima Premier League (KPL), under the aegis of Kohima District Cricket
Association, will begin on Friday at Nagaland Cricket Association Stadium,
Sovima, in Chumoukedima district.
A press release informed that the T20 League will feature
four teams, namely, The Capital Sixers, Oking Outlaws, Ura Mavericks and the
Central Hurricanes. The competition will end on January 13.
The organisers informed that keeping in mind the
sustainability of the league, they have limited the number of teams to just
four this season but are open to go bigger in terms of number teams, prizes and
other arrangements in the following season depending on the success and
response of the inaugural edition.
Meanwhile in the
players pick, Kelhousilie Zapoutuo, a current U-23 Nagaland team player, became
the highest valued player of the KPL season-1 followed by TapituTupitor and Zidu Pohenain the second and third placerespectively.
