Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): Two car lifters were apprehended by Kohima Police on November 9 at a mobile vehicle check post (MVCP) set up after a vehicle was reported stolen.

A police officer from Kohima informed Eastern Mirror that two occupants of the stolen car were caught at the MVCP on the highway.

It was informed that the vehicle owner had advertised the car (Hyundai i20) for sale on OLX, the online platform.

A prospective buyer from Manipur arrived, and during negotiation, on the pretext of retrieving his items from the hotel he had checked in, he sneaked away and drove off with the car.

The police officer informed that after recovering the vehicle, they ascertained the details of the car and after confirmation they handed over the vehicle along with the accused to East Police Station as an FIR was filed there.
