DIMAPUR — The Pochury Hoho, Kohima (PHK), Pochury Women Organisation, Kohima (PWOK), and Pochury Students Union, Kohima (PSUK), condemn the alleged abuse of a minor by one Dr. Vibino Sabina at Jotsoma.
In a joint condemnation note, the three organisations claimed that Sabina, hailing from Khonoma village and presently residing at Jotsoma, had been regularly harassing, physically torturing and abusing the 11-year-old minor girl from last year until her rescue by the Child Welfare Committee, Kohima, on May 30.
The PHK, PWOK and PSUK extended their gratitude to the principal and staff of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma, for observing and rescuing the minor and reporting the matter to the concerned authority. They also lauded the Child Welfare Committee for its timely intervention and protection of the child.
The bodies appealed to the concerned authorities for prompt and appropriate action as per the law and added that they firmly believe justice will be delivered to the victim at the earliest.
They also called upon all right-thinking citizens to come forward and condemn the act.
