Kohima, Mokokchung bid adieu to out-going DCs

In Kohima, the farewell programme was in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner. In his farewell speech, Rajesh Soundararajan thanked everyone especially the staff of DC’s office, Kohima, for organising such an elaborate send-off programme. Stating that it was a great challenge to be the DC of Kohima, he said the toughest challenge ever was monitoring law and order situation that arose during the ULB elections. He said the events had been a great learning experience and would help him in dealing with such situations in future. He further thanked all his colleague administrative officers, SP Kohima and his subordinate officers, elected members of Kohima district, NGOs and various civil societies in Kohima for extending their full co-operation and support in all his endeavours as a government servant. He also encouraged one and all to continue the various initiatives that were introduced during his short tenure to ensure that the state capital moves forward in the right direction in all aspects of development. “Kohima is a bit different from other districts by virtue of being the capital and it is a rare privilege to be the DC of Kohima,” he said. Rajesh Soundararajan took charge as the deputy commissioner, Kohima, on January 5, 2017. He has been posted as deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, after a successful and eventful term of two years as deputy commissioner, Kohima. Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, ADC Kohima, who spoke on behalf of the DC office staff, said it had been an eventful two years as they have learned a lot working under him. She wished him the best as DC Mokokchung. SP Kohima, vice president of Angami Public Organization (APO), president of Angami youth Organisation (AYO) and chairman of Gorkha Panchayat spoke on the occasion. Speakers have thanked the out-going DC for the remarkable development and changes he had initiated in the district and further wished him well on his new posting as DC, Mokokchung. The programme was chaired by Longasen Lotha, SDO (C) Sardar, Kohima, who also pronounced the vote of thanks. Special song was presented by the Dobashis of Kohima. In a similar programme, Mokokchung district bade farewell to its outgoing deputy commissioner, Sachin Jaiswal, at DC Bungalow, Mokokchung, on January 15. The outgoing deputy commissioner joined office as SDO (C), Mokokchung, on December 15, 2015. During his short stint of three years and one month in Mokokchung, two elections were successfully conducted besides many other achievements. The deputy commissioner, in his farewell speech, said his stay in Mokokchung for more than three years was a memorable and successful journey, adding that what he learned and gained would be with him till his death. Jaiswal also saluted his subordinate officers and all persons involved in the successful completion of the assembly elections and Lok Sabha by-election. Stating that the district had achieved a lot particularly in the medical sector, he has thanked the subordinate officers for their support and cooperation. He has termed himself fortunate as many developmental activities such as road and other infrastructure developments were initiated in the district during his tenure. He has credited all achievements to the support of all the officers and staff of different departments, NGOs and the public of the district. Short speeches were delivered by Dr. Kibang, deputy CMO, on behalf of DPDB members; Dr. BM Sunep, CVO on behalf of Officer Club Mokokchung; Raguramarajan A, SP Mokokchung; Chubawati, president of Ao Senden; Moainba, UDA on behalf of DC staff; Noklentoba, PA to DC, Tuli, on behalf of Dobashis; Razouvolie Dozo, ADC, Mangkolemba on behalf of outpost administrative officers; and W Manpai Phom, ADC, Mokokchung, on behalf of DC office. A special song was presented by Talipokum Pongener and associate pastor of MTBA, Temsuwati, said the invocation. The programme was chaired by Thungchanbemo Tungoe, SDO(C), Mokokchung.
