Kohima, Oct. 20 (EMN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed shopping establishments, arcades, in Kohima town to ‘compulsorily’ provide toilet facilities within their respective complex.
The administrator of the KMC, Kovi Meyase, issued a notice on Saturday. The council stated that many shopping arcades in the capital town do not have toilet facilities for customers. In this regard, all the arcades have been directed to make said facility available.
A separate notice from the KMC also requested the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries to initiate a follow-up action to ensure that the frontal facade of all the shops and establishments are to be properly painted. Likewise, they are to ensure that the establishment properly display the name of the shop, along with adequate light.
Further, the municipal agency has asked that the establishments also ensure placing of dustbins and not to throw garbage on the roadsides except at the designated collection point as per the timing of the municipality.
