- DIMAPUR — A one-day career guidance and
counselling programme was organised by the Kohima Lotha Students' Union (KLSU)
as a prelude to the 50th anniversary of the Kohima Lotha Hoho, on the theme
'Future-ready reasoning,' at the Capital Convention Centre on April 26.
- According to an update, speaking on the theme, chief
coordinator of Pragtisheel NGO and Firm, Chumbemo Jarret Patton, said that
government jobs in Nagaland are saturated.
- He expressed that life skills for tomorrow's challenging
times are needed, along with an understanding of the different
generations/cohorts to determine where society stands and how to navigate the
shift.
- While reminding the students that smartphones and gadgets
have transformed people into technologically savvy yet disconnected
individuals, Patton highlighted that the loss of human connection, combined
with the imbalance in the parent-child relationship, will likely lead to a
significant need for old age homes in the next decade.
