Kohima-Jessami landowners demand action on project delays
Aggrieved Landowners of Kohima-Jessami two-lane construction packages IIB, III, IV and V” on Wednesday flagged the delay in paying damage compensation since 2021.
- DIMAPUR — Landowners
of the two-lane stretch between Kohima and Jessami have once again threatened
with going ahead with its “own course of action” if the authorities concerned
fail to come with a solution to address the delay in completion of the project.
- A press statement issued by the “Aggrieved Landowners of
Kohima-Jessami two-lane construction packages IIB, III, IV and V” on Wednesday
flagged the delay in paying damage compensation since 2021.
- “As many verifications and assessments were done by the
district-level verification committee since 2021 and submitted to state
government & NHIDCL for approval, but no concrete solution and payment were
given to the aggrieved landowners.
- “Many landowners were left with no home to stay since 2021
due to properties damage by the physical work of the EPC contractor. With much
hardship and suffering, the aggrieved landowners had given enough patience to
the state government, district administration and NHDICL to come up with
concrete solution but no solution was given so far. So, the aggrieved landowners have no more
patience to wait but will directly take it own course of action if the state
government & NHDICL fail to come up with positive solution at the
earliest,” the statement read.
- Accordingly, it urged upon Deputy Chief Minister and
Minister in-charge of National Highways, TR Zeliang, to look into the matter
“and take serious action to solve the issue at the earliest.”
