
Kohima, April 14 (EMN): Kohima district emerged as the overall champion of the two-day inter-district Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS)/ Government High School (GHS) tournament 2023 which was concluded at IG Stadium in Kohima on Friday.
Various disciplines like football, 150m and bamboo stilt races for boys and volleyball and 800m race for girls were conducted.
Both boys and girls also competed in 100m and 200m races including shot-put, discus throw as well as high jump.
About 524 students from almost all the districts took part in the different disciplines that were held on April 13 and 14 in Kohima.
In football (boys), Kohima district emerged champions and Mokokchung bagged runner-up position, while in volleyball (girls), Mon district emerged as the winners and Noklak district secured runners-up position.
According to the organisers, in 100m race (boys), Keduhoto (Kohima), Nihavi (Dimapur) and Machirang (Peren) bagged first, second and third position respectively.

In 1500m race (boys), Mutuyi (Kohima), Pashu (Noklak) and M Pangkhah Konyak (Mon) bagged first, second and third in the order.
In long jump (boys), Keneingulie Khro (Chümoukedima), Bamat (Noklak) and Kivipu (Niuland) secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In shot put (boys), Machirangbo (Peren), Aton (Mon) and Medoselhou Kuotsu (Chümoukedima) bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In discus throw (boys), Dhan Bahadur (Chümoukedima), N Pangam Phom (Mokokchung) and Seyievizo Metha (Kohima) secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In 100m race (girls), Neshe Maonyu Konyak (Dimapur), Neke K (Kohima) and Lhindeiching (Peren) bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In 200m race (girls), Inchasenla (Dimapur), Thukulu Ruho (Phek) and Kenny Kent (Kohima) secured first, second and third positions in the order.
In 800m race (girls), Chimmushe (Kohima), Jemie Y (Dimapur) and Sangkai (Noklak) secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In long jump (girls), Retica Mech (Dimapur), Neke K (Kohima) and Omensenla (Mokokchung) bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In shot put (girls), Monglem Konyak (Mon), Heiziugile (Peren) and Vizoseno Kiso (Kohima) secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In discus throw (girls), Kevineinuo Khro (Kohima), Lanukokla Jamir (Mokokchung) and Jamie P (Dimapur) bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In bamboo stilt (boys), Vilhoukho, Viketoulie and Dilie from Kohima secured first, second and third positions respectively.
