- DIMAPUR — The Kohima Forest Division, in
collaboration with the 78 battalion CRPF located at Zubza, conducted a
week-long reforestation programme at the Forest department-owned land in
Zhadima.
- An update from the Kohima Forest division stated that the
initiative culminated on Friday under the supervision of Devnath Somkunwar,
commandant of 78 Bn CRPF, and Dr. Sevono Seletsu, Divisional Forest Officer
(DFO), Kohima.
- Organised as part of the World Environment Day campaign, the
programme was aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and raise
awareness about the importance of reforestation.
- Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr. Seletsu emphasised the
critical role of tree plantation and community participation in preserving the
environment. She urged all the stakeholders to sustain and scale up
afforestation efforts for a greener future.

- Among those present at the event were RV Philip,
second-in-command of 78 Bn CRPF; Khriezovo Zutso, assistant commandant of 78 Bn
CRPF; Savinuo Kikhi, range forest officer of Chiephobozou; Medo Kire, range
forest officer of Kohima.
- Report further stated that Forest department staff and
security personnel participated in the programme.
