Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): Following imposition of ban on use of single-use plastics by the state government, Kohima district administration carried out frisking and checking within the town area on October 4.
This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Gregory Thejawelie, during its meeting on October 15 held at DPDB conference hall, Kohima. Stating that further frisking and checking would be carried out on regular interval, the DC has requested the members to take it seriously and ensure not to utilise banned plastic items in their respective offices.
The DC also asked the defaulting departments, which have not submitted their reasons on failing to provide departmental profile, to submit the same at the earliest.
DPDB chairman and advisor of Urban Development, Neikiesalie Kire was also present in the meeting.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the district-level awards committee and inter-departmental sports meet committee were asked to brief the board in the next meeting.
In regard to adoption Committee 2019-2020, the committees submitted their adopted villages. The adopted villages are Sechü Zubza under 8 Western Angami AC; Lower PWD under 9 Kohima Town AC; Chedema model village under 10 Northern Angami-I AC; Zhadima village under 11 Northern Angami-II AC; Kigwema village under 14 Southern Angami-I AC, and Kedima village under 15 Southern Angami AC.
The board also recommended Nagaland Veterinarians’ Association, Tacü Clan Society and Kohima Ao Officer Temtelongjem (KAOT) for registration of societies and decided to forward it to the government for approval. Further, the house decided to hold its next DPDB meeting-cum-day out in Touphema village.
The DC further informed that a sensitisation and awareness campaign programme on Accessible India Campaign (AIC) for the heads of government departments in Kohima district would be held on October 18 at 10:39 am in the Cafeteria Hall of NPWD Kohima. He has requested all the concerned members to attend the programme.
