Dimapur, Sep 7 (EMN): Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), in a special meeting on September 7 at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima, has approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2017-18.
DPDB vice chairman and Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, who chaired the meeting, urged the members to cooperate with each other for efficient performance of duty.
MLAs from the district namely minister of Roads & Bridges, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire; Parliamentary Secretary of Mechanical Engineering & NSMDC, Vikho-o Yhoshu; and Chairman DPDB & Parliamentary Secretary of Labour & Employment (including Skill Development), Dr. Neiphriezo delivered short speeches. They urged the member to openly share their opinions for the benefit of the district. They further expressed gratitude to the DPDB members headed by the DC for working tirelessly for the welfare of the district.
Chairman DPDB, Dr. Neiphriezo had encouraged the members to work together as a family for good cause.
Administrator of KMC, Kethosituo Sekhose, while apprising the members of the Kohima Municipal Council building project at new Secretariat, encouraged the entrepreneurs to make good use of the building for their welfare and development. The building has been designed to house shops for Naga entrepreneurs as well as from other parts to showcase their products with an aim to provide opportunity for business exchanges.
Maintaining that developed entrepreneurs will serve as the economic backbone of the society, he urged the members to extend their support for the success of the project. He informed that the project which will be called ‘Make in Nagaland’ or ‘Made in Nagaland’ in line with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative will soon begin in partnership with the Youth Net.
The Board, in its special meeting, unanimously approved Rs. 691.25 crore under Kohima District Local Area Development Programme 2017-2018.
The Local Area Development Programme (LADP) will cover 8th Western Angami A/C, 9th Kohima Town A/C, 10th Northern Angami-I A/C, 11th Northern Angami-II A/C, 12th Tseminyu A/C, 14th Southern Angami-II A/C, and 15th Southern Angami-II A/C.
The house also approved the Local Area Development Programme under common pool 2017-18, amounting to Rs 105 lakh.
