Dimapur, Dec. 19: Various Village Adoption Committees made power point presentations and highlighted the progress, achievements and initiatives undertaken in the district at the monthly meeting of Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) on December 15 at DPDB Hall, Kohima.
Village Adoption Committee report on 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency (Hospital Colony) was presented by Neikesono, Convener and SDO(C) Kohima; while on 11 Northern Angami was presented by Seyiekhrielie Rio, BDO Chiephobozou; on 15 Southern Angami was presented by SDO Wanyei Wanlleip; and on 10 Northern Angami A/C (High School Ward) was presented by Kethosituo Sekhose, SDO (Sadar).
Deputy Commissioner has appreciated the Village Adoption Committees for their services rendered to the grass root population by instilling sense of sanitation and imparting trainings on livelihood which is the most effective way to stimulate economic development.
He also encouraged the Committees to undertake more activities in sensitising the grass root population and continue to monitor and evaluate the trainings imparted on the communities in order to get actual interest of the community.
The house also discussed on opening of new college at the existing Mt Sinai School, Kohima. The Board requested the concerned authority to verify and submit preliminary report to the DPDB for approval and onward submission to the Education Department.
