Kohima, Oct. 31 (EMN): The 9th edition of Kohima District Table Tennis Championship concluded on Thursday, Oct. 31 at Indoor TT Stadium, Kohima.
The District Sports Officer of Youth Resources and Sports, Chubarenla Longchari attended the closing ceremony of the tournament as special guest.
Longchari asserted that playing sports not only grooms a person to be disciplined but also teaches team spirit, healthy competition and explores the benefits of sports. She cited the life story of Ibrahim Hamato, saying that he overcame all odds because of his love for the game and became a world table tennis sensation.
“Nothing is impossible in this world if you try really hard,” she said, urging the players to be hardworking, dedicated and be passionate. She also congratulated veteran players and the organisers for giving young players a platform to showcase their talents.
