The Kohima District Implementation Committee reviewed the progress of the PM Vishwakarma scheme in Kohima.
DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Implementation Committee (DIC) for PM Vishwakarma held its review and planning meeting at the deputy commissioner's office chamber in Kohima on June 29 to assess the progress of the scheme under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima B Henok Buchem.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the scheme, with a particular focus on credit linkage, skill training, toolkit distribution, and marketing support for traditional artisans, stated a DIPR report.
A key issue discussed was the discrepancy between district and bank data on loan applications. The DC highlighted the need for better coordination with banks.
The committee discussed the need for the State Council for Technical Education and the State Institute of Rural Development to submit their training action plans while noting that the Industrial Training Institute, Kohima, has successfully conducted training programmes and plans to begin advanced training for carpenters.
The committee was informed that toolkit distribution is underway through India Post and that PM Vishwakarma products from Kohima have started receiving orders through e-commerce marketplace Amazon.
Officials also highlighted the formation of the district's first artisan cluster, which has been invited to conduct training programmes in Delhi.
