
Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): Office of the District Education Office (DEO), Kohima, organised a felicitation programme for district-level recipients of “Swachh Vidayalaya Puraskar 2021-2022” award in its conference hall with the deputy commissioner of Kohima and chairman of SVP district-level, Shanavas C, and Khriesano Nagi, assistant director-cum-state nodal officer of SVP, as the special invitees.
“Swachh Vidayalaya Puraskar” awards are given to schools in recognition for excellence in sanitation and hygiene practices. The purpose of the awards was to honour schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the “Swachh Vidyalaya” campaign.
An update from DEO Kohima stated that a total of 14 awards in the overall and sub-categories were handed out to schools by Shanavas C. The programme was chaired by Neivikhono, project assistant of DMA, while the DEO of Kohima, Emilo Patton, delivered the welcome address.
Principals of St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Lerie, and Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima, shared their experiences regarding SVP, while speeches were also delivered by the special invitees.
A brief report on SVP Kohima was delivered by Benny Dzuvichu, SVP district-level coordinator, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Thonsenlo, DMA assistant district coordinator.
Report further stated that five schools were nominated for the state-level award from Kohima district.
