Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): The Kohima district core committee for systematic voters education and electoral participation (SVEEP) held its first meeting under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on Oct. 12.
The meeting discussed the following issues like identification of dual registration of married women, to identify and enroll the overseas Indian citizen, to identify migrant labourers, to delete the deceased voters, to indentify the eligible members of persons with disability (PwDs) for registration. AEO Kohima, Toshimeren informed that so far a number of 506 members of PwDs have been identified; the meeting also deliberated on mapping of PwDs in the electoral roll and their accessibilities and facilities available on the polling day.
The meeting was followed by launching of signature campaign on “pledge to maintain clean electoral roll to facilitate free and fair election”, by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan IAS, the DIPR updated.
