Responding to recently published articles questioning the credibility of Kohima College Principal Dr Watijungshi and the sanctity of the college, Kohima College Teachers’ Association has clarified that an inadvertent human error was made in the issue of the B.A. provisional certificate to Neiphiu Rio by the then administrative set up.
The present administrative set up rectified the error, and consequently issued a corrigendum and the corrected B.A. Pass certificte to Neiphiu Rio.
A statement issued by KCTA President Mhalezolie Kire and General Secretary Sunjeminla said adding, the college tendered an apology to Rio publicly without any bias.
“All will agree to the undeniable fact that the college in its 49 years of existence has selflessly served the state and its people. Therefore, the insinuation that the college is indulging in commercialization is an affront that is exceedingly unacceptable and uncalled for. This clarification is issued to exonerate the incumbent principal and Kohima College from all baseless and fabricated allegations and to affirm that we are above all these petty mongering and refuse to be drawn into any further controversy in this matter henceforth. We stand by our motto Search for Excellence and will continue to render our service for the upliftment of our people,” the statement said.
