Kohima College and Baptist School Botsa students attend 8th session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

DIMAPUR — Eighteen students from the Department of Political Science, Kohima College, accompanied by three faculty members, attended the 8th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly as part of an experiential learning initiative.
In a press release, the college stated that the students observed the Governor’s address to the House and obituary references to former members of the legislative assembly, gaining firsthand exposure to legislative proceedings. The visit was organised to inculcate practical understanding of parliamentary procedures, legislative functioning, and democratic governance.
Faculty members stated that such experiential exposure helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world political institutions while fostering civic awareness and appreciation of democratic values among students.

Following the session, the students also had the opportunity to briefly interact with and take a group photograph with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
Meanwhile, students of Baptist School Botsa (BSB) attended the first day of the 8th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

According to an update, during the visit, the students led by their teachers had an interactive session with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio; NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer; Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir and MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero.
The students also had interaction with Khruohituonuo, Rio Secretary-in-Charge of the NLA Secretariat, and Elena Kesiezie, OSD to the chief minister.
Further, the students visited the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and interacted with the officers of the CMO.
