Kohima Capitals, Eighties CC Wokha and Flamingos CC Dimapur today became the last three teams to book berth for the quarter finals of the 6th Silver Cup T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department.Playing the first match of the day, Kohima Capitals defeated United CC by 72 runs. Winning the toss, they set a target of 179 runs losing 7 wickets in complete 20 overs with Chinglen contributing highest 51 runs and Pete 38 runs. United CC bowlers Sepichem and Heka claimed two rivals wickets each, but while chasing the target United CC managed to score 107 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Chinglen of Kohima Capitals was adjudged the man of the match for his 3 wickets.
In the second match, Eighties CC Wokha won against NBCK YD by 6 wickets. Winning the toss, NBCK YD elected to bat first and set a target of 111 runs losing all wickets in 19 overs with Shambu scoring highest 34 runs. Eighties CC bowler Mharemo claimed 3 rival wicket. Chasing the target, Eighties CC achieved it in 14 overs losing 4 wickets with Ezanthung scoring highest 58 runs and Renjanthung 28 runs. Shambu claimed two rival wickets for NBCK YD. Ezanthung received the man of the match.
In the last pre-quarters, Flamingos CC Dimapur humiliated Friends CC by 10 wickets. Electing to bat first, Friends CC scored 65 runs in 16.5 overs with Zakir and Meak scoring 14 and 13 runs. Chasing the minimal target, openers for Flamingos achieved it in 5.3 overs P. Thrinadha Rao and Tejosel contributed 28 and 16 runs while 22 runs came through extras. Flamingos bowler Vicky Hanse was adjudged man of the match for claiming four rival wickets. He also became the owner of Blue Cap of the tourney for becoming the highest wicket taker so far with 8 wickets.
