Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for the month of April was held on the 18th of April at the DPDB hall in Kohima town.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Lithrongla Tongpi presided over the meeting. Reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the ADC reminded the members to write to either the chairman or the vice-chairman of the DPDB if they are not unable to attend meetings. Failing to do so would compel the board to ‘write to the authority for further necessary action.’
The official asked the members to submit profiles of their departments to the ADC of Planning which has to be compiled with the ‘LADP booklet.’
Referring to the Village and Ward Adoption Committee, the ADC informed the board that the initiative taken by the DPDB of Kohima had been recognized by the central ministry and that it had been selected for an award. It will be included in a coffee book which will be released in April. She has requested conveners to complete their work by December.
The members of the board discussed matter about installation of additional electrical posts in Peraciezie colony high school ward. The officials also listed a number of societies for registration and renewal: Guardian Foundation Society, New market colony, Kohima; Little Angels society, near DPHSS Kohima village; Formation Society, Lower Bayavu Colony, Kohima; Asia Harvest Alliance society, upper Chandmari, Kohima.
Also, AEO of Kohima, R. Mhathung highlighted the issue of bogus, illegal entries of names in the state’s electoral-roll. He said that the department had received a letter from the Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation of Nagaland concerning ‘multiple bogus names’ in the electoral roll. They will be visiting every district according to their campaign as planned.
The official requested all the members present in the meeting to inform to respective department that bogus entries in the electoral roll are ‘not allowed as per the representation of the peoples Act and to enrol their name only in one place.’
The officer has urged them to educate their staff members and to cooperate in making the electoral roll ‘clean.’
P. Jakpou Khiamniungan, executive engineer (Rural) of the Public Health Engineering department gave a PowerPoint presentation about the status of rural water supply in Kohima district, besides component-wise schemes taken up during 2016 to 2017.
The ADC has requested the principal of Kohima College to highlight their departmental activities in the next meeting of the board.
