Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for the month of August was held on August 29 in Kohima. During the meeting, the board discussed registration of Societies, establishment of schools, and village adoption committees among others, updates stated.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave updates on Thursday about the meeting.
During the meeting, the six societies highlighted their objectives and sought registration with the government of Nagaland. After a thorough examination of the six societies the board decided to forward them to the government for ‘further analysis’ and action.
As discussed in the previous meeting the board also appointed a committee to review the feasibility of establishing the Koinonia Baptist School at Kezieke in Kohima. The committee has Kohima Additional Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa as its convener with representatives from the Traffic Police, the Police department and the department of School Education as members, the IPR stated.
The board also discussed the issue of upgrading and recognising ‘Chiephobozou local body’ to that of an urban station.
Likewise, the board reviewed the application for grant-in-aid in respect of Christian School of old Tseminyu town but decided to defer the matter to the next meeting as no representative from the department in concern was present, the updates stated.
The vice chairman of the DPDB Gregory Thejawelie Sote highlighted various schemes, projects and financial assistance in the seven assembly constituencies in Kohima district under the Local Area Development Programme for 2019-2020 ‘which the members of the board approved unanimously.’
In other matters, the district’s planning officials reminded the departments that are yet to submit their departmental profiles to submit it on or before the 7th of September 2019, the updates stated.
The meeting concluded with a short discussion about a proposed visit of members to different districts to ‘learn more about’ the village adoption committee projects across Nagaland, the IPR stated.
