DIMAPUR — The Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court on Wednesday launched its official mobile application, GHCKB App, marking a major step toward making justice delivery more accessible, transparent and citizen-centric.

A DIPR update stated that the app was formally unveiled by Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Bar Room, Kohima, in the presence of Justices Sanjay Kumar Medhi and Arun Dev Choudhury.

Calling it the first High Court in the Northeast to introduce such an application, the chief justice said the initiative reflects the Bench’s successful transition into IT-driven systems.

He highlighted that the app was developed entirely in-house by the ICT team, and praised its user-friendly features that allow real-time access to case information, orders and court updates.

Describing the app as “citizen-friendly,” he said that it would particularly benefit lawyers, litigants and people living in remote areas.

Drawing from his recent visit to Hornbill Festival, the Chief Justice reflected on the spirit of brotherhood displayed there and encouraged the legal fraternity to carry the same camaraderie into professional practice.

Ajongba Imchen, Registrar of Kohima Bench, described the app as a bridge between the Bench, Bar and litigants, offering unified access to case details, cause lists, orders and essential court information, thereby strengthening transparency and empowering citizens.

Boduve Peter Resu, Joint Registrar (Judicial) and CPC eCourts Project, said that the app responds to common challenges faced by the public in accessing court-related information such as orders, judgements, cause lists and live-streaming links.

Terming it a “living entity,” he said that the platform will continue to evolve with feedback from users. He added that the app is available on the Google Play Store, with an iOS version to follow soon.
