Kohima allows vegetable vendors to use a portion of local ground

Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN): With reference to the application submitted by the Self Employed Women Association, Kohima on September 9, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator, Kovi Meyase, has informed that vegetable vendors within Kohima have been permitted to utilise the northern part of the local ground on all weekdays, except on Wednesday, to sell organic vegetables and local products with effect from September 11.

This permit is valid till September 30.

The vendors will be allowed to utilise the space subjected to the following terms and conditions:

  • The business shall be open by 6 am till 5 pm on all weekdays (except Wednesday).
  • Only northern gate of the local ground shall be utilised.
  • Nominal fees shall be charged as usual for maintenance.
  • Only bonafide members having valid pass shall be allowed to utilise the allotted area.
  • The vendors shall compulsorily follow SOP guideline issued by the authority.
  • Use of banned plastic is strictly prohibited.
  • Sale of any prohibited item is strictly restricted.
  • They shall adhere to the rates of KMC and no item shall be sold beyond the fixed rate.
  • Violation of any of the above terms and conditions shall lead to immediate cancellation of the permit.
