Kohima administration lifts more sealed areas

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Kohima district administration, in an order issued by the deputy commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, has lifted all those sealed areas which were notified on or before September 9.

The district administration had demarcated sealed of those areas in view of the detection of Covid-19 positive person at various locations of ward/ colony/ village in the district. The sealed order was issued to contain the spread of disease/infection and kept the area under strict and active medical surveillance besides restricting public movement within the area.

Accordingly contact tracing of the Covid-19 positive person was carried out in the sealed areas by the CMO co-ordination team led by the district surveillance officer and epidemiologist, Kohima, and all the primary and secondary contacts were identified and tested for Covid-19 infection, a DIPR report stated on Wednesday.

Accordingly, with the completion of fourteen days since the notification of sealing and subsequent initiation and completion of contact tracing activities, the deputy commissioner, Kohima, has lifted all the sealed areas notified by the office on or before September 9 and declared that normal activities in all those locations are allowed to resume henceforth as per various SOPs and medical advisory/ guidelines of the government, which is still enforced.

The order, however, stated that those sealed areas where recent Covid-19 positive cases are detected and those kept/ monitored under home isolation would not be applicable.
