Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): The establishment of the deputy commissioner of Kohima has issued a circular stating the details of terms and conditions for candidates to the “IAS scholarship examination” to fulfil.
The government’s publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates to the media on Thursday informing about the terms.
The Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie has issued a notification informing all in concern that an the scholarship examination will be conducted as part of the chief minister's corpus fund for 2019-2020 in partnership with the Alternative Learning System (ALS) New Delhi for civil service candidates from Nagaland.
The notice stated these terms and conditions: The date of examination is October 12 2019 from 11:00 am and till 1:00 pm, at the Nagaland Public Service Commission’s examination hall.
The date of announcing the results is October 16 2019. The examination will be based on the Union Public Service Commission’s civil services examination pattern with MCQ questions of 100 questions of two marks each, the IPR stated.
“There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer. Candidates are to bring only black ball point pen to the examination centre to fill up the OMR answer sheet,” the IPR stated.
Application forms will be issued on October 3, 4, and the 9th and the 10th, from the office of the deputy commissioner. The last date ‘for receipt of forms’ is October 10.
Hall tickets will be issued at the office of the deputy commissioner. Candidates are to be aged 20 years and over on or by August 1 2019. Forms will not be issued to persons born after the 1st of August 1999, the updates stated.
The required documents are Aadhaar Card or Passport or a Voter ID Card, ST certificate, mark sheets and pass certificate from class XII and above; two passport-size photographs, HSLC admission card, mark sheets or birth certificate, the IPR stated.
Scholarship structure
Students rank, percentage of fee waiver on course fees, sponsoring authority or agency:
Top 1-100 students will be 100%, government of Nagaland; top 101-140 students - 75%, ALS; top 141-190 students - 50%, ALS; top 191-240 students - 40% - ALS; and top 241-290 students - 25% - ALS.
The selection of students from the chief minister's corpus fund scheme sponsored by the government of Nagaland will be based on the Nagaland Reservation Roster List, the IPR stated.
Course Duration
The one-year course starting from October 21 2019 at any of the six ALS authorised learning centres in Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Wokha and Mon via VSAT technology during which live transmission of classes being conducted at the ALS Delhi campus will be given.
The timing of the class will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm every Monday to Friday with weekly current affairs classes every Saturday, the IPR stated.
