Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): The district administration of Kohima has issued a public notice directing landowners, and other governmental or non-governmental agencies in Chedema village of Kohima district to clear up or vacate all structures in the compensated areas.
The government's publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued on Saturday updates about said decision.
The IPR stated that the establishment of the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Anoop Khinchi has issued a public notice directing landowners, and governmental or non-governmental agencies in Chedema village to clear or vacate buildings, plantations, fisheries and any other establishments and structures on the compensated area.
They are directed to do as directed, within one month from the date of issue of this order dated May 14, the IPR stated.
It was informed that the move was under section 9 (2) of the Nagaland Land Requisition and Acquisition Act 1956, and meant for the construction of the two-lane Chakhabama-Zunheboto road of the Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for North East.
The notice stated further that after the stipulated date, the acquired land shall be taken into possession by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for construction of said road immediately, and without any further notice.
The public notice has been issued for strict compliance by all responsible, the IPR reported.
