The principal of Kodaikanal International School (KIS) Corey Strixrud and staff members including alumni conducted a session of music and admission updates at the Niathu Nousi auditorium in Dimapur on Monday evening.
Strixrud spoke to Eastern Mirror during the event. He said that that the KIS was a multi-cultural school that has students and staff from 25 countries. The KIS is an ‘enquiry-based’ educational institute and follows a holistic philosophy, he explained. With a vision to be ‘a school that the world needs,’ he explained, the objective of the KIS in Nagaland is to strengthen its network with the Northeast.
The school’s principal called the KIS a service-minded institute and not a business-orientated organisation. Providing a platform and opportunity of dialogue through various programs, the KIS aspires to be more than a school and more of a community-based institute.
Alika Khosla, admissions coordinator for the KIS said that the interviews for admission can be done via Skype for the convenience of Northeastern students; it is just as it is done for international students. The KIS is said to provide an extensive exchange programme for its students and gives them a chance to go abroad.
