Kobulung, May 9 (EMN): With the initiative of Mokokchung district task force, washable cotton facemasks were distributed to all the villages and town under Kobulong EAC circle on May 9.
The washable cotton masks were all sewed by the volunteers and SHGs under NSRLM Kobulong block. The volunteers have sewed a total of 6077 masks in two weeks under the initiative of Mokokchung district task force for Covid-19.
In a short function, EAC Kubolong, Kupeusing Meru, lauded all the SHGs and volunteers for their selflessly service to stitch the face masks for the citizens. He also expressed gratitude to the managers of NRLM for coordinating with the SHGs and supporting the mask campaign in the circle.
Kubolung is the first sub-division in the district to receive free washable cotton masks to all its citizens initiated by the Mokokchung district task force on Covid-19 and funded by the citizens of Mokokchung district.
The villages under Kobulong circle included Sungratsu, Mopungchuket, Chami, Longpa, Longjang, Khanimo, Yimchalu, Kobulong Town and Impur Mission Centre.
Meanwhile, EAC Sentilong Ozukum, who is also the nodal officer for the masks project, has appreciated the SHGs of Kobulong block under NSRLM for their voluntary service and making it available for all the citizens in just two weeks.
He has also appreciated his colleague EAC Kobulong Kupeusing Meru for spearheading the mask campaign under Kubolong block. He further informed that a total of more than 30,000 washable cotton masks have been completed so far in the district adding those facemasks would be distributed circle-wise in a phase manner.

INR 25 lakh.
