The Kohima Municipal Council gave out prizes to the winners of the council’s 4th annual inter-ward cleanliness competition, at the Zonal Council Hall in Kohima on December 17. Imjung M Panger, Secretary of Urban Development was the chief guest.
In the function, the chief guest addressed the gathering. Imjung highlighted some of the departmental activities, urban facilities and overall development policies for the urban areas of the state. The first prize for the inter-ward cleanliness competition went to ward-16, which consists of New Ministers’ Hill, Lirie, Lirie Chazou and New Reserve Panchayats.
The second prize went to Ward -11, consisting upper, middle and lower PWD Panchayats. The third prize went to Ward-14 consisting Old Ministers’ Hill and Dzuvuru (Potterlane) Panchayats.
The prizes were given away by the chief guest to the winners with running trophies, certificates along with cash prizes of Rs.50, 000, Rs.30,000, and Rs.15,000 in that order for the first, second and third prize winners.
