KMC Councillor Thenusou Sekhose inaugurates new water facility

KOHIMA — As part of the ongoing development projects, a newly constructed public ring well and drinking water facility in Sector D of D Block, Ward No. 6, was inaugurated by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Councillor Thenusou Sekhose Yhome on Tuesday.


Speaking during the programme, Yhome highlighted the various developmental projects undertaken in the colony. She also expressed gratitude to the Urban Development Department and the Municipal Affairs Department for funding the initiatives under different schemes.


While commending the quality of the work, she praised the residents of the various sectors for their decision to contribute towards the future upkeep of the infrastructure. She further encouraged the residents and community to take care of the projects as their own and ensure proper maintenance.


She urged the community to cooperate even in the future to bring further development to the area.


After the inaugural programme, the councillor, accompanied by leaders from D Block and youth organisations, also inspected other projects implemented during her tenure, including drainage repair works at three locations, drinking water facilities, the rejuvenation of the water source at Sector D, the installation of a waste bin with a soak pit, the construction of a footpath and footbridge for GPS D Block, footpath repairs in Sectors C and D, and the improvement of a newly constructed footpath.
