The second edition of Kizuyi Football Tournament began in style on February 26 at Heningkunglwa local ground where the president of NPF, Peren division, Haingam Kauring was the chief guest.
Addressing the inaugural function, Haingam stressed that sports would never lose its value as it is the bonding factor for communities to foster peace and brotherhood. He said games and sports is a tool to fight discrimination of ability, gender, caste, creed or community. Besides, he also said sportsmen could make great leaders.
Stressing on the values of games and sports, Haingam said it could help sportsperson to improve social relationship; learn to manage time wisely, and help to develop skill and concentration. He added that games and sports helps persons to remain active even in old age and most of all it teaches discipline.
He concluded his speech by quoting Andrea Pislo, "Football is played with the head, your feet are just tools." He also quoted Zinedine Zidane words "I once cried because I had no shoes to play football with my friends but one day I saw a man who had no feet and I realised how rich I am."
