DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has denied that a man reportedly arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Kiyeto Zhimomi, Head GB of Vikuho village, is a functionary of the organisation.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the group’s Ministry of Information and Publicity refuted reports alleging that an individual identified as Yehekhu, described in some reports as the deputy secretary of NSCN (U), from Shoipu village, belonged to the organisation.
The ministry stated that the individual reportedly arrested from a farmhouse said to belong to a functionary of NSCN (Khango-Hokato) at Vihokhu village “does not, under any circumstances whatsoever, belong to or hold any position within the GPRN/NSCN (Unification).”

The organisation further stated that there is only one Naga nationalist organisation functioning under the name GPRN/NSCN (Unification), led by its president Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh.
It cautioned individuals, organisations, law enforcement authorities and media entities against arriving at “premature or unfounded conclusions” without proper verification of facts, stating that the spread of inaccurate information could create confusion and tarnish the reputation of the organisation.
The group also said it reserves the right to initiate action against any individual or organisation responsible for spreading what it described as unverified or malicious reports.
