- DIMAPUR — The
GPRN/NSCN, under the leadership of N Kitovi Zhimomi and Maj. (Rtd) RM Lotha,
has extended a welcoming hand to all Naga national workers who believe in the
Agreed Position signed on November 17, 2017, as the path towards resolving the
Indo-Naga political issue.
- “The Naga movement has been hampered by ego, personal
grudges, and negative energy. It is time to set aside petty, personal
differences,” read a statement issued by the group on Thursday.
- The group also clarified its position regarding the
ceasefire agreement with the government of India (GoI). It stated that while
they do not concern themselves with whom the GoI invites or signs agreements
with, a ceasefire extension invitation was extended to N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato
Kilonser of GPRN/NSCN (NK), by the CFMG chairman on April 7.
- A five-member CSFB team subsequently went to New Delhi, and
the ceasefire was extended for one year on April 11.
- “Unfortunately,
amidst the committed effort to reunite among the recently parted comrades, on
14th April 2025, Gen. (Rtd) MB Neokpao issued a public statement that he
neither deputed GPRN/NSCN (NK) CFSB members to Delhi nor recognised the CF
extension of 11th April 2025.
- “In the eyes of the GoI, this ruled himself out of any CF
consideration. Also, letting ENNWA issue a statement that CF between GoI and
GPRN/NSCN (NK) will not be recognised in ENPO areas was a wrong step. It is a
fact that GPRN/NSCN (U) has never entered into a ceasefire agreement with GoI.
To unilaterally claim the ceasefire extension between GoI and GPRN/NSCN (U) at
Chümoukedima on 28th April 2025, which appeared in the local dailies, makes no
sense,” the statement read.
- The group underscored that ceasefire agreements and
extensions are typically signed with GoI and MHA representatives in New Delhi,
with key security officials in attendance, following invitations extended by
the chairman of the CFMG.
