Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): The 4th Kiruphema Students’ Union (KSU) open volleyball-cum-1st penalty shoot-out tournament culminated on Sat. Nov. 3 at the Kiruphema local ground, in Peducha. Altogether, 14 volleyball teams and 17 teams for penalty shoot-out took part in the tournament.
Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) emerged champions of the 4th KSU open volleyball after defeating Khonoma Students’ Union, while Adroit Boyz Sechu Zubza won the first penalty shoot-out champion by defeating Kezie kro-u Kiruphema.
Earlier, President Western Angami Sports Association (WASA), Kobou Mezhünyü said that KSU tournament is one of the most famed tournaments which brought teams from other neighbouring villages as well. He congratulated Kiruphema Students’ Union for taking the initiative to organise the tournament for the last 4 years. Mezhünyü, who was the special invitee of the closing ceremony, said that sports can bring unity and promote young talents, he also urged the KSU to take higher steps in the future and develop players into superior competitive level.
