Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) today seized huge consignment of contraband Ganja within its jurisdiction. The consignment was found hidden in the jungle below the road by unknown miscreants following an intelligent report.
It may be mentioned here that thousands of vehicles and travellers cross Kiruphema village jurisdiction under Kohima district every day on NH. 29.
The smuggled goods were found covered with hundreds of bamboo basket weighing approximately 500 kg in 110 packets, said Makolie Suosahie, chairman Action Committee KYO.
With the initiative of KYO, all confiscate Ganja were burned and destroyed in the presence of village council, women organisation and students union today here at Kiruphema.
Meanwhile, KYO president Kezevilie Hojha warned against any persons involving in such activities. He also urged citizens to be conscious on such activities within its jurisdiction. He said Kirupema village is not a dumping site for such substances and warned that any person found involving in such activities will be doing so at their own risk.
