Kiruphema and Tsiepama to celebrate ‘friendship feast’

Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): Two Angami villages, Kiruphema from Kohima district, and Tsiepama in Dimapur district will be celebrating what is said to be friendship that was established from during their forefathers’ time. They will be celebrating the friendship by having a “traditional friendship feast” at Kiruphema local ground, Peducha, at 10: 30 am on February 16.
After a gap of 65 years, both the villages will be celebrating the feast again. Such a feast was last held in 1952 at Tsiepama, and in 1954 at Kiruphema.

The feast will begin with a prayer from reverends and pastors from both the villages followed by a ceremony to dedicate a souvenir by Rokoneica Kuotsu, former minister, updates on Monday informed.

It was informed that Rev. Yagwelie Shüya of Tsiepama, and Thepfülhouca Kinyü of Kiruphema will be exhorting the event.
The organizing committee has invited both the villages’ community to attend the feast in ethnic attire. There will be recreational activities including community sporting events, available information said.
