Kropol Vitsu and Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso along with other
dignitaries during the 50th anniversary celebration of Kirha Students’ Union in
Viswema village on Wednesday.
DIMAPUR — The Kirha Students’ Union Viswema
(KSUV) on Wednesday celebrated its 50th anniversary at GMS ground in Viswema
village under the Southern Angami region of Kohima district.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest, MLA and
advisor of Prisons, Printing and Stationery, Kropol Vitsu, conveyed jubilee
greetings and appreciated the founding leaders of KSU for their vision towards
the uplift of student community and quality of education under K Khel of
Viswema village.
According to him, the best learning stage is from class A to
10 stating that teachers give their best during this period. He, therefore,
called upon the students to give their best to grab the basic knowledge by
listening carefully to teachers so as to successfully achieve their future
goals.
He advised the students to concentrate in their studies and
not get involve too much with the different social organisations. He also
encouraged the youngsters to venture into agriculture, entrepreneurship and
business and not depend only on government jobs.
The MLA and chairman of Kohima DPDB, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso,
in his brief address, lauded KSU for attaining 50 glorious years. Reminding
that the present education system has become very competitive and challenging,
he called upon the student community to give their best.
He also called upon the youngsters to give back to society
through the achievements they make.
Earlier, Vitsu unveiled the jubilee monolith and also
hoisted the KSU flag while MLA Rhutso released the jubilee souvenir.
Marking the jubilee, KSU has felicitated students who have
secured more than 90% marks in the academic session, while it also inducted new
office bearers led by Apoto Rhetso as president and Kekhrievinuo Kikhi as
general secretary.
